Obituary

MILLBURY - Kazuko "Suzie" (Koyama) Garza, 81, of Millbury died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at UMass Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of Daniel Garza Jr., who died in 1998. Born and educated in the Sakhalin Islands, Japan (now a Territory of Russia), she was a manager at the Post Exchange on various U.S. military installations, including Camp Zuma in Okinawa, Japan. She moved to the U.S. with her family in 1975. Suzie enjoyed gardening and could take any flower or plant and make it flourish and beautiful. She also loved playing bingo and the companionship of her pets. She leaves four sons, Steven R. Garza of Livingston, Ind., Howard L. Garza of Junction City, Kan., Daniel W. Garza of Millbury with whom she lived, and David Garza of Worcester; and many grandchildren, including Daniel and Jennifer Garza of Millbury.
Calling hours will be private. Burial, following cremation, will be alongside her husband in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Texas. Instead of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
