Julia I. Ortiz, 82, of Marlborough died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Kindred of Marlborough. She was the wife of Victor Vega. She was born and raised in Baranquitas, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Vicente and Providencia (Alicea) Ortiz. Julia was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening and the love of her family, friends and the Lord. She was outgoing, friendly and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was the mother of Roberto Torres of Waltham, Jose Luis Martinez of Puerto Rico, Marta Martinez of Marlborough, and Maria I. Martinez and Migdalia Torres, both of Puerto Rico. She also leaves a brother, Andres Ortiz of Boston and a sister, Regina Ortiz of Waltham; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10 a.m., in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 21 from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
