Obituary

MARLBOROUGH - Josefini (Schiessl) Byrnes, 82, of Marlborough, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at her sister's home in Framingham after a long illness. Her husband, Edward Byrnes, died in 1995, and her son, Paul J. Byrnes of Marlborough, died last December.
She was born in Gauting, Germany, the daughter of the late Josef and Maria (Brummet) Schiessl and moved to Massachusetts in 1957. Josefini had worked for several years in Germany as a photographer's assistant prior to coming to the United States. She leaves her loving and devoted sister, Elisabeth Sellers, and her husband, Odell, of Framingham; a nephew, Steven C. Sellers, of Framingham and a niece, Dianne C. McGowan of Medway; and a grandnephew, Thomas McGowan of Medway.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. A calling time will be held prior to the funeral Mass, from 8 to 8:30 a.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. In lieu of flowers donations in Josefini's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 480 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451.
