IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John E.
Macdonald
January 9, 1928 – May 25, 2015
Marlborough- John E. MacDonald, 87, of Marlborough died Monday May 25, 2015 at the Tippett House in Needham. He was the husband of Florence L. (Cullen) MacDonald for the past 67 years. He was born, raised and educated in Brighton, the son of the late John P. and Annie W. (Warner) MacDonald and was a traffic manager for Lewis-Shepard Co. in Watertown for 15 years before working as a dispatcher for Air Products and Chemicals in Marlborough for over 12 years. John also sold helium to local businesses and for private parties. John was an avid antique car collector and enthusiast, a member of the Sudbury Ford Model A Club, an Ambassador for Tufts Medicare Senior Health Plan and a member of the Hudson Senior Center. John was instrumental in starting the Lake Shore Association that purchased and put aside 2 small parcels of waterfront land to create 2 private beaches for the neighborhood residents. In later years the association honored him by naming one of the beaches after him. He will be remembered as an outgoing, kind man that was always willing to help others…to many he was known as the "fix it guy". John was great with his hands, and enjoyed square dancing and Irish music. Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Gerald (Jerry) MacDonald and his wife Susan of Framingham; two grandsons, Benjamin and Michael MacDonald both of Framingham.
