MARLBOROUGH - John M. Battaglino, 49, of Marlborough died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 at his home. He was born in Newton, the son of John M. and Grace M. (Navarro) Battaglino of Marlborough. John was a graduate of Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School and attended the University of Chicago and University of Redlands, majoring in physics. As a young man he worked in various capacities for the family business, Marlboro 123 Cinema, ultimately becoming a projectionist, and worked at Loew's in Natick as a projectionist for over 15 years. John enjoyed working on cars, tinkering with electronics, was an avid reader, enjoyed classical music, and was a licensed firearms instructor and member of the NRA as well as the Hudson Rod & Gun Club.
Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers, Robert Battaglino of Mesa, Ariz., Adam C. Battaglino of Marlborough, Joseph P. Battaglino of Millbury, and two sisters, Audra Rogers of Hudson and Lorna J. Fairbrother of Warren; his maternal grandmother, Lucille G. (Gianelli) Navarro of Watertown; three nephews, Jude, Nicholas and Samuel, and two nieces, Elena and Avery.
