MARLBOROUGH - John M. Hatfield, 55, of Marlborough died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center after a short illness. Born in Boston, he was raised in Marlborough and was a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1974. John was president of his senior class at Marlborough High. He was devoted to his parents, Irene (Corey) Hatfield, who died in 2000 and Robert E. Hatfield, who died in June 2009. John enjoyed chess, computers and computer games, and helping his friends. For about 10 years, he was a quality control inspector for Raytheon, retiring in 1993 due to medical issues. He is survived by his brothers, Richard A. Hatfield and his wife, Catherine, of Acton, and Steven R. Hatfield and his wife, Dianne, of Burlington; four nephews, Brian Hatfield and his wife, Tracy, of Hudson, Jason Hatfield of Enfield, Conn., Nathan Hatfield of Irvine, Calif., and Michael Hatfield of Acton; and two grandnephews, Dyllan and Collin Hatfield of Hudson.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Webster Street, Worcester.
