MONSON- John G. Costello, 63 of Monson and formerly of Marlborough, died Friday March 23, 2007 at home. He leaves his daughter, Kelley R. Howland and her husband Steven of Wales; a sister Elizabeth A. Costello of Stoneham; a granddaughter Shay E. Howland of Wales; several nephews, nieces and his former wife Lois E. (Simmermon) Costello of New Ipswich, NH and his golden retriever "Erin". He was predeceased by a brother, James Costello of Maine who died many years ago. Born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin the son of the late Joseph and Jane (Atwood) Costello and was educated in Melrose. He was employed at Methods Machine Tools in Sudbury for many years before retiring last year. Previously worked for the Town of Sudbury Highway Department and co-owned and operated Costello and Daughter Tree Service for many years. Mr. Costello was a frequent contributor to WGBH Public Television and a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation. He enjoyed music, chess, collecting antique lanterns and working on his antique trucks. He will be remembered as loyal, hard working and dedicated to his family. His funeral will be held Tuesday March 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Monday March 26 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02131.
