D" Dubick
January 21, 1921 – June 15, 2014
On June 15 th , 2014, Jeanette "Mrs. D" Dubick passed from this life peacefully, with members of her loving family at her side. The daughter of the late Morris and Anna Yoffee, Jeanette was born and raised in Portsmouth, NH. She was pre-deceased by her devoted husband Benjamin Dubick, her brother Bernard Yoffee and her grandson David Dubick. She is survived by her sons; Murry (Ellen) Dubick of Marlborough, MA, Michael (Joanne) Dubick of Creswell, OR, and Stan (Linda) Dubick of Framingham, MA. She also leaves her sister Marcia Provizer, of Brookline, MA. Jeanette was "bubbe" to her 8 surviving grandchildren, Debra, Daniel, Nickie, James, Brian, Sara, Nathan and Stephanie. She was "super bubbe" to her 6 great-grandhildren; Elizabeth and her fiancé, Nathan Dworkin, Brittney , Victoria, Jake, and Ben, her nieces; Marlene and Lisa, her nephews; Steven, Larry, Wade and Aaron, many cousins and friends. She shared special decades-long friendships with Mary Muolo of Cambridge, MA, Barbara Magazine of Framingham, MA and Honey Schwartz of Newton, MA.
Jeanette graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor's degree in education and taught mathematics and chemistry and various other subjects as a substitute teacher. She met her husband Ben during World War II when he was stationed on the Isle of Shoals. After the birth of their first son, they moved to Brookline, MA where their other children were born and raised. Jeanette and Ben had many catering/food businesses over the years in which Jeanette ran the financial aspects of the business. They also lived in Framingham for many years before retiring to Florida where they lived until Ben's death. Jeanette soon thereafter returned to Massachusetts to be near her family.
During her years in Florida, Jeanette became a 2 time breast cancer survivor and staunch advocate for breast cancer research and she volunteered her time to raise funds for a cure. She was honored for her efforts and that work was truly a source of pride in her life. To all who knew Jeanette, she was regarded as a sweet and loving woman. Sports, news and weather will not be the same without her. Her absence in our lives will remind us all how precious life and family can be.
