Obituary

MARLBOROUGH- Janet M. (Bouffard) LaFountaine, 74, of Marlborough died Saturday March 14, 2009 in Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Robert J. LaFountaine, Sr. who died in October 2007. She was born and raised in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Leonard and Eleanor (Courtemarche) Bouffard and was a 1952 graduate of Marlborough High School. Janet worked as a fancy stitcher at Frye Boot for over 20 years, and co-owned and operated with her husband Robert, Freddy's Country Kitchen in Marlborough for many years. Affectionately known as "Meme" by her loving family, she enjoyed dancing, bowling, figure skating, knitting, and cooking for her family. She leaves her son Robert J. LaFountaine, Jr. and his wife Rowena of Worcester; a daughter, Christine M. Gardner and her husband Daniel of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Frederick and Mickey Bouffard both of Nevada; a brother-in-law Peter LaFountaine and his wife Judy of Hudson; four grandsons, two granddaughters, nine great grandsons and eight great granddaughters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday March 19th at 9:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held Wednesday March 18th from 5-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
