Hudson- James McCann, 74 of Hudson and formerly of South Weymouth died peacefully on Tuesday November 25, 2014 at Life Care Center of Acton. He was the husband of Bernadette J (Loycano) McCann for the past 52 years. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, raised and educated in Dorchester, the son of the late Robert and Martha (MacFadries) McCann and was a graduate of Dorchester High School Class of 1956. While working as a printer for Ward's of Boston, James and Bernadette settled in South Weymouth where they raised their family. James continued his printing career at Honeywell where he worked for more than 20 years, before accepting a position at Venture Tape of Rockland and  finally becoming a home inspector for Done Rite Home Inspections of  Weymouth. He was truly, dedicated to his family. He enjoyed woodworking and even built cradles for his grandchildren. He was a quiet man, content to enjoy the company of his family and the comfort of his home. He loved camping,fly fishing and golf.

He leaves a son Michael J. McCann and his wife Deborah of South Weymouth; two daughters, Maureen Bonetti and her husband Richard of Leominster and Kathleen M. Cuddy and her husband Robert of Hudson; a brother Robert McCann and his wife Irene of Plymouth and a sister Irene Moriarty of Hingham; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Devon, Natalie, Vincent, Sabrina, Robert, Michael, Daniel and Sean; three brothers –in-law, Charles Loycano and his wife Margaret, Vincent Loycano and his wife Deborah and Benedict Loycano and his wife Catherine; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Mitchell and Rosemary Gremaud and her husband Pierre; and many loving nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held Saturday November 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
