MARLBOROUGH- James K. "Ken" Rice, 73 of Marlborough died peacefully Thursday November 29, 2007 at Marlboro Hills with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Doris M. (Hanley) Rice for the past 51 years. He leaves three sons, James K. Rice, Jr. of Marlborough, Robert F. Rice of Manchester, NH and Richard E. Rice and his wife Robin, of Parsonsville, Maine; his daughter Donna M. Farley and her husband Frank, of Holliston; eleven grandchildren, David, Taylor, James III, Jillian, John, Douglas, Roberto, Rene, Christian, Richard J. and Alexis. He was born in Waltham, the son of the late Francis and Catherine (Clancey) Rice and was a graduate of Waltham High School and was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He went on to a lifelong career in banking having retired from State Street Bank in Boston several years ago. Following his retirement he worked as a sales associate for Home Depot in Marlborough, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday December 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham. Calling hours will be held Sunday December 2, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
