Gardner- James F. Fraser, Jr., 67, of Gardner died Thursday August 11,
2016 at Mass General Hospital after an 11 year battle with Leukemia. He
was born in Chelsea, the son of the late James F. Fraser, Sr. and Barbara
M. (Horgan) Fraser and was raised in Medfield. He was a 1968 graduate of
Medfield High School and went on to receive his L.P.N. license from
Leonard Morse Hospital , a bachelors degree from Salem State in
psychology, and Masters degree in Industrial and labor relations with
honors from NY Institute of Technology. Jim served during the Vietnam era,
and was stationed in Germany. He was a medic who deeply loved his country.
Prior to retiring in 2006 due to illness Jim was the Administrator of Lachance  Nursing Home in Gardner for 15 years.

Jim was a devote Catholic and was a Lay Associate of the Sisters of Good Shepherd.
He enjoyed gardening, entertaining, cooking and taking an interest in and
helping other people. He loved people and was loved by all who knew him.
He leaves his brother Robert F. Fraser and his wife Carol of Baltimore,
MD; four sisters, Joyce E. Derendal and her husband Ted of Myrtle Beach,
SC, Barbara A. Barry and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, Faith Donohue
and her husband Kevin of Astoria, OR and Jeannette M. Fraser of Worcester;
many nephews, nieces and grand nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday August 16 at 11:00
a.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel, 406 Hemenway Street, Marlborough.
Private burial with Military Honors will be held in Holyhood Cemetery,
Brookline at a later date.  There are no calling hours.  Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral
Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com),  378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. In lieu
of flowers donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Sisters of the
Good Shepherd Retirement Fund.  All are invited to sign Jim's online
