MARLBOROUGH- Italmir Brito Burke, of Marlborough died Monday September 24, 2007 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of John J. Burke. She leaves a brother Francisco Inacio Da Silva Neto; four sisters, Italmira Silva Brito, Inalva Silva Brito Tatsui, Celuta Silva Brito Fortes and Maria Do Carmo Silva Brito all of Brazil; many nephews and nieces. She was born in Ituaco, Bahia, Brazil the daughter of Itamar J. Silva Brito and the late Caio M. Brito. She was educated in Brazil and received her B.A. degree in Administration and moved to the United States in 1993. She worked as a CNA at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlborough for five years, only leaving when her illness became too much for her to provide care for others. She enjoyed arts & crafts, novellas, cooking and collecting angels. Calling hours will be held Wednesday September 26, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A prayer service will be held during calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA.
