Hyannis- Henri S. Guimaraes, 49, of Hyannis died Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Jocineia N. Soares Santos. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil the son of Jose M. A. Guimaraes and Maria C. Ferreira Alves of Brasilia. He graduated from high school in Brasilia and received a degree in Digital Media from Gibbs College in Boston. Henri was an Information Systems Analyst at Cape Cod Hospital for many years. He previously was self-employed as a computer technician, installing and repairing computer networks. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis and a messenger for The Devine Mercy. He was a 5th Degree Black Belt and Tae Kwon Do Master, a discipline he studied for over 30 years. He trained several area police departments in self-defense techniques. He was a generous, caring, devoted man with a pure heart and high morals. Henri was devoted to his family, his wife and daughters were his three "princesses". Henri's relationship with God was a strong one, up until his last day he maintained his strong beliefs and uplifting spirit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis. Burial follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Henri's memory to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
