Helen Jo Loiacono, 55, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2016 in Marlborough, Massachusetts.  Helen graduated 4th in her class at Cicero High School and Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Oswego. Her first job at Raytheon found her working on air traffic control systems and President Reagan's Star Wars program. She deeply loved her country. "Gertie," as she was affectionately known by her family, loved to bake, tole paint and help people in need.  Her family and friends always enjoyed the mountains of Christmas cookies and specialty cakes she baked for them.  She was a quiet, kind and generous soul and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Helen is survived by her kindred spirit, Charlene Bencivenga, of Marlborough, MA; her mother, Dorothy Loiacono, of Cicero; brothers Patrick (Laurie), of Pennellville and Anthony (Kelly), of Baldwinsville; several nieces and nephews and the loves of her life, her feline companions Drew Baby, Tonytina and Jumpin' Jack Flash.  She was predeceased by her father, Dominic, in 2002 and brother, John, in 2014.

A celebration of Helen's life is planned for Saturday, October 1 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the home of her brother, Patrick Loiacono, 15 Hidden View, Pennellville, NY.  Family and friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
