NORTHBOROUGH - Grace E. (Ayers) Dzuro, 89, of Northborough, formerly of West Long Branch, N.J., died unexpectedly Friday, April 15, 2011 at UMass Medical Center. She was born, raised and educated in East Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Alma (Stoeckl) Ayers, and was a graduate of East Waterloo High School, Class of 1939. Grace attended Iowa State Teacher's College and was a graduate of Gates Business College. She loved her career as a buyer/planner for the Procurement Office of the Department of Defense securing resources for the global support of our troops. She surprised her colleagues by retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service. Previously she worked for several years at State Mutual Insurance Company in Davenport, Iowa and the Telephone Company in Des Moines. She also owned and operated J's Donut Shop in Davenport. Grace was an extremely creative woman who loved the arts. She also was a very good cook who enjoyed shopping, travelling, and flower gardening. She leaves three daughters, Deborah Dzuro, Elise Corwin and Elena Dzuro; three grandchildren, Andrew Corwin, Angela Dzuro-Quick and Emile Houk; and three great-grandchildren, Casey Lueders, Justin Leuders, and Amanda Honeycut.



A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, April 20 at 9 a.m., at St. Anne's Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough. Entombment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 19, from 1-3 & 6-8 pm at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
