MARLBOROUGH - George P. Chani, 78, of Marlborough and Fayetteville, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at the Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville. He was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the son of the late Peter and Dhimitra ( Malaveci) Chani, and owned and operated Chani Brothers Cleaners. He also worked at his brother's restaurant in New Hampshire, the Olde Road Steakhouse. He leaves his sister, Norma V. Chani of Marlborough, nephews, nieces and many friends. He was the brother of the late Louis, William and Alexander Chani.
His funeral and burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
