Obituary

MARLBOROUGH - G. Ruth (Neelon) McCormack, 99, of Marlborough and formerly of Lexington and Vero Beach, Fla., died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Hearthstone at New Horizons. She was the wife of the late Atty. Paul J. McCormack. Ruth was born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Frank P. and Margaret E. (Cannon) Neelon, and was a graduate of St. Rose High School in Chelsea and Regis College, Class of 1933. She taught for many years at Shurtleff Junior High School in Chelsea, and was a substitute teacher in Lexington and Bedford. She loved music, walking, and cooking for her family and many friends. Most of all, she loved meeting people. In five minutes Ruth would learn more about you than the FBI could learn in five hours, and soon afterwards you would be exchanging Christmas cards for the next 20 years! She leaves three daughters, Paula M. Jablon of Stow, Meg Nixon of Bath, Maine and Claire A. Teitleman of Providence, R.I, and a son, Charles N. McCormack of Bridgewater, NH; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews .
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, at St. Matthias Church, Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Private burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Lexington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regis College or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign Ruth's online guestbook at www.CollinsFuneral.com
