MILFORD - Francisco de Assis Pereira Da Silva, 44, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011. He was the husband of Josilda A. De Lima. Born in Brazil, the son of the late Lazaro J. Pereira and Geny Maria Da Silva of Brazil, he served in its army as a young man. He enjoyed travelling, joking and cooking, and was a great family man. Before moving to the United States, he owned and operated his own farm and later in this country, worked in construction. Devoted to his wife and children, he was selfless in giving to others. He was the father of two sons, Marcos A.L. Da Silva and Renato B.L. Da Silva, both of Mato Grosso Do Sul, Brazil, and a daughter, Isabela L. Da Silva of Wilmington, N.C.; a brother, Alfredo P. Da Silva of Brasila and four sisters, Maria M. P. Da Silva of Wilmington, Francisca Youman of Atlanta, Ga., Iranei P. Da Silva of Brasila and Marily P. Da Silva of Mato Grosso Do Sul; and one granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (
