WORCESTER – Florence T. (Drumgool) Legere, 96, of Worcester and formerly of North Oxford, died Monday, May 23rd, 2011. She was the wife of Henry J. Legere, who died in 1995. Florence was born and raised in Millbury, the daughter of the late Owen and Katherine (Bergen) Drumgool. After graduating from Millbury High School in 1933, Florence went on to complete her Associate's Degree in Business at Becker College in 1939. Florence was a bookkeeper for Worcester Taper Pin Company for many years before retiring in 1974. She leaves a son, Paul H. Legere of Dudley; two daughters, Catherine M. Morin of Worcester, and Carol M. Jette of Shrewsbury, as well as Carol's life partner, Paul LaVenture. She was also a beloved grandmother to eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Florence enjoyed ballroom dancing, bingo and working in her garden. She was strong in her faith, and was, until her later years, a dedicated member of Saint Joseph's Church in Auburn. Above all, her family was her life, and she took great joy in spending time with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 26th at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 25th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
