HUDSON- Emma J. (Carson) Goodbar, 91, of Hudson, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday July 1, 2008 in Marlborough Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late William K. Goodbar who died in 1998. She was born in Brookline, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (MaWhinney) Carson and was raised in Newton where she was a 1933 graduate of Newton High School. She leaves a son William D. Goodbar of Boone, NC; three daughters, Joan E. Vento of Hudson, Barbara A. Daubenschmidt of Saratoga Springs, NY and Donna J. Rodriguez of Aurora, CO; six grandsons, four granddaughters, two great grandsons and six great granddaughters; two nieces and a nephew. Emma worked for the F. W. Woolworth Company in Newton Centre for ten years, and enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, shopping, watching her daily soap operas, and Boston sports. A memorial service will be held Friday July 25, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
