Framingham- Elsa I. Melendez, 62, of Framingham died Thursday December 26, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Natick. She was the wife of Rafael Melendez. She was born in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Jose and Carmen (Rivera) Melendez. She enjoyed reading and cooking, was a caring, straight forward, funny woman that adored her grandchildren.

She leaves two sons, Luis Melendez of Chicopee and Eduardo Melendez of Framingham; a daughter Zuleyka "Zully" Silva of Framingham; a brother, five sisters and three grandsons.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday December 31 from 6-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to  assist the family with funeral expenses.
