MARLBOROUGH - Elena "Nana" (Sfiligoi) Oak, 81, of Marlborough died Friday, May 16, 2008 at Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Arthur J. Oak Jr., who died in 1967. Born in Goriza, Italy, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Elda (Silli) Sfiligoi, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Goriza and later received her teaching degree in Goriza. Mrs. Oak moved in 1946 to Marlborough where she raised her family. She leaves three daughters, Joanne E. Puljanowski and her husband, John, of Stoughton, Barbara J. Campbell, and her husband, Allan, of Marlborough and Janet M. Kent and her husband, Richard, of Philadelphia; seven granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters. Affectionately known as "Nana" to all, she was very active with her late husband, Arthur, in the operation of the Roll-Land Speed Club. For the past thirty years her true passion in life was for the care and involvement of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her family as a loving, kind woman who would truly give the shirt off her back to someone in need. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 20 at 9 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, May 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
