MARLBOROUGH - Eleanor V. (Stone) Auger, 93, of Marlborough died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at her daughter's home in Holden, after a brief illness. Her husband, Albert F. Auger, died in 1987. Born in Dorchester, the daughter of the late George J. and Edith M. (Grant) Stone, she was a 1933 graduate of Revere High School and moved to Marlborough in the 1940s. She worked at the B.A. Corbin Shoe Factory for many years, and later at Framingham Motor Inn as a housekeeper. Eleanor enjoyed the beach and swimming, sewing, cooking, crafts and writing poetry, and playing and watching baseball--she was a diehard Red Sox fan.
She leaves two sons, Albert R. Auger of Boynton Beach, Fla., Philip R. Auger of Marlborough and a daughter, Kerry Nuttall of Holden; four granddaughters and two grandsons; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, George and Dorothy.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Feb. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
