Obituary

Elaine C. (DesRochers) Connor, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at the Mariam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. Born on March 9,1940, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Elaine’s life was marked by her resilience, warmth, and unwavering spiritual strength.

A proud graduate of Marlborough High School’s class of 1958, Elaine spent many years of her professional life working at Raytheon. Her commitment to her work reflected the same determination she showed in facing life’s challenges, including her courageous battle with cancer. Those who knew Elaine, remember her as a fierce fighter who never complained, always greeting others with a smile and an encouraging word. With each obstacle that came her way, she would approach it and say, “it’s an adventure”.

Elaine was blessed with many family, friends, neighbors and a caregiver, who deeply loved and supported her. The care she received at the Parlin House Hospice was extraordinary. Her journey was met with compassion, dignity and peace.

Elaine’s spirit shone brightly through her love of simple joys: she cherished swimming, spending time at gatherings with her friends, and attending St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where she volunteered as an altar guild. Elaine adored her beautiful calico cat, Missy, who offered comfort and joy.

Elaine is survived by her beloved daughter, Kristianne Rivers, her husband Robert, and grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph of Wakefield; a sister, Andrea Fitzpatrick, her husband Paul Fitzpatrick of Marlborough; her sister-in-law, Ceil DesRochers Gadbois of Falmouth; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Connor, who passed in 2018; her parents, Aubert and Clara (Schonbeck) DesRochers; and her two brothers, David and Paul DesRochers.

A funeral Mass will be held at a date and time to be announced. All are invited to sign Elaine's online guestbook at colinsfuneral.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.

A gift in memory of Elaine may be made to the Marion Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence, https://gscommunitycare.org/Donate  whose compassionate care meant so much to her daughter, Kristianne.
