MARLBOROUGH- Edward F. Henning Sr., 70, of Marlborough died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Marlborough Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the husband of Marsha V. (DePaul) Henning for the past 49 years. Born in Hoboken, N.J., the son of the late Walter and Veronica (Vesey) Henning, he moved to Marlborough many years ago. A graduate of St. Michael's High School in Hoboken, he later entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He worked for Ken's Foods for many years, retiring in 1999, and previously had worked at NEC in Northborough and as a manager for Quality Moving & Storage, both for several years. A diehard Yankees fan, an avid reader and a Civil War buff, he enjoyed walking and spending time with his grandchildren. Beside his wife, he leaves three sons, Steven P. Henning of Marlborough, Edward F. Henning Jr. of Salem and William W. Henning of Berlin; five daughters, Theresa A. Henning of Milford, Linda F. Bales of Ooltewah, Tenn., Diane E. Gnida of Middletown, N.J., and Marsha V. Good and Joan M. Henning, both of Marlborough; a brother, Raymond Henning of Marlborough and a sister, Joan LaBruno of New Jersey; three grandsons and 10 granddaughters; and many nephews and nieces. His brother, John Henning of New Jersey, died last year. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
