IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward
Murphy
May 17, 1919 – January 15, 2008
MARLBOROUGH - Edward W. Murphy, our dearly loved father, husband, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather has passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, peacefully in Marlborough. He was 88 years old and lived a brilliantly creative and vibrant life. There will never be another Edward Murphy. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and her three adult children, Danny, Donna and Diane; his own children, Judy of Petaluma, Jeanmarie of San Francisco, Peter of Marlborough and Pammy of New York, who are all in awe of one remarkable father. Preceding him in death were his four sons, Christopher, Donald, David and Mark. His love of Irish music, the accordion and the limericks that were too naughty to repeat made him the character he came to be. The love of his grandchildren, Thyme Sullivan, Justin Murphy and Bridget Gavin and great-grandchildren, Dennen and Josie made him proud. He will be missed by his brother Bill of Cape Cod and sisters Kit of Cape Cod and Fran of Vermont. The numerous nephews and nieces will also miss him dearly. He was born in Newfoundland, Canada and was a long time resident of Lincoln. He was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury High School and Wentworth Institute, and was a U.S. Navy diver during World War II. He owned and operated Edward Murphy Construction for many years. A spring service will be held in Lincoln. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www. SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough
