BERLIN- Darla R. Taylor, 60, of Berlin died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester after a long illness. She was born and raised in McKeesport, Pa., the daughter of the late Donald R. and Elizabeth (Muzzy) Taylor, and was also raised in North Versailles Township, Pa. A graduate of East Allegheny High School, Class of 1970, she was a self-employed musician/singer who performed throughout New York and Pennsylvania for over 20 years. Darla was a sweet, strong-willed woman with a passion for music. She enjoyed playing the guitar and flute, reading, and was a movie buff who loved a good comedy or sci-fi flick. She leaves her sister, Deborah R. Taylor and her spouse, Dixie Esseltine, M.D., of Berlin; a niece, Elizabeth Campbell of Marlborough; two grandnephews, David Goulet and Hunter Campbell, both of Marlborough; her aunt, Jane Hardin and her family of Pennsylvania; and many friends including, Georgi Baino, Eileen Tucker, Mary Woods, Donna Butler, Pam Hibbs and Pat Rowell. She was the sister of Lori E. Burns of Berlin, who died Nov. 24, 2004.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 19 at 1 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private following cremation. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home.
