IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher J.
Kenney
September 23, 1960 – April 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher J. Kenney, 64, of Marlborough, who died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Brigham & Women's Hospital after a brief, but courageous, battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chris was born in Boston and raised in Dedham, the beloved son of the late George and Ann (MacIver) Kenney. A graduate of Dedham High School, he went on to earn his BA in Nursing Home Administration from Stonehill College. Chris dedicated his career to caring for others, serving as Administrator at several area nursing homes, including Marlborough Hills and Meadow Green in Waltham. He was known for his deep compassion, commitment to his staff and patients, and for always putting the needs of others before his own.
A proud and passionate Boston sports fan, Chris was a die-hard supporter of the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, and Celtics. But nothing brought him more joy than his love for Dawn and the game of golf. He was so dedicated that he taught Dawn how to play—and in true poetic fashion, she hit a hole-in-one before he ever did. Chris, ever the loving and generous soul, was overjoyed for her.
Together, Chris and Dawn shared a love filled with laughter, travel, and tropical adventures to places like Punta Cana and Barbados. A true romantic, Chris found joy in the little things—leaving handwritten love notes, writing messages in chalk on sidewalks to surprise her during her walks, crafting "I love you" out of everyday objects, and finding countless ways to make Dawn feel cherished. His love was evident in every action, every surprise, and every smile.
Chris was larger than life—loving, caring, humorous, and deeply devoted to those he held dear. His presence lit up every room, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his fiancée, Dawn Cisewski of Marlborough; his son Alex Kenney of Plainville; his daughter Nicole Kenney of Plymouth; his brother Patrick Kenney and wife Claire of Norton; his sister Alison Paul and husband Bill of Los Angeles, California. Chris also shared a special and close bond with Dawn's son, Nolan Ouellette of Marlborough.
Chris's life was a testament to love, laughter, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed.
