IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine M.
Byrne
June 5, 1964 – April 6, 2010
HUDSON - Christine M. Byrne, 45, of Hudson, formerly of Stow and San Diego, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Brigham and Womens Hospital after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Janice M. (Rousseau) Byrne of Hudson and Thomas V. Byrne, who died in January. A graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, Class of 1982, and Boston College School of Nursing, Class of 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Chrissy was a Captain in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War. Before her illness, Chrissy was a Registered Nurse with American Mobile Nurses based out of San Diego, and had worked for Mary Birch Hospital for Women in San Diego for more than 10 years. As a Traveling Nurse, she had worked at various hospitals in the Boston area, New York and Florida.
Chrissy was a fun-loving, compassionate and caring woman who gave so very much to many people, especially children. She had traveled throughout the world to educate herself on the holistic approach to birthing and healing, and gave medical care to children in an orphanage in Mexico, always working to improve the lives of those less fortunate. Some of her favorite spots to visit were Peru, Ireland and New Orleans. A spiritual woman, she was in tune with nature and loved listening to the sound of ocean waves crashing on the beach. Chrissy enjoyed reading, dogsitting, listening to others, and as one friend put it, she belonged to everyone and connected with anyone she met. A true angel on earth, Chrissy was like a mother to her younger sisters, Meridith and Aimee, and was beyond devoted to her nephews and nieces.
Besides her mother, she leaves her sisters, Michelle M. Byrne of Stoneham, Meridith A. Pavlosky and her husband, Michael, of Gardner and Aimee Byrne Healy and her husband, Adam, of Marlborough; seven nephews and nieces, Rachel and Rebecca Dannay, Clara Pavlosky, Thomas and Abigail Healy, and Steven and Elizabeth Pavlosky; her aunts, uncles and cousins; and hundreds of friends. She was the sister of Thomas V. Byrne, Jr, who died in 1972.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 9 from 5 to 9 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
