Obituary

Charles R. "Charlie" Cronis, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Born on September 26, 1954, in Boston, Charlie’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with kindness, humor, and an unyielding zest for life.

A proud graduate of Watertown High School’s class of 1973, Charlie embraced the joys of life with an infectious spirit. He devoted many years as a skilled sheet metal fabricator at Damco Manufacturing in Watertown, where his craftsmanship and dedication were deeply respected. Later, he lent his talents to the maintenance department of St. Bernadette's School in Northborough, quietly supporting the institution and its community with care and diligence.

Charlie was the heart and soul of every gathering, known far and wide for his legendary cookouts and lively pool parties that brought friends and family together in laughter and joy. He was a man who thrived on entertainment and camaraderie, forever the life of the party with his quick wit and great sense of humor. Those lucky enough to know him cherished his kindness, generosity, and the joy he radiated in every room.

Away from work and celebrations, Charlie found happiness in simple pleasures—running, playing basketball, and trips to Old Orchard Beach. His spirited enthusiasm extended to his unwavering support for the Red Sox and Patriots, embodying the true spirit of a passionate fan.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Helen T. (Daudelin) Cronis, and their beloved son, Charles C. Cronis of Marlborough. He also leaves behind four brothers—Steven Cronis of Needham, Paul Cronis of Stow, Peter Cronis of Newton, and Andrew Cronis of Marlborough—along with many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marguerite (Gostanian) Cronis.

Friends and family will gather to honor Charlie’s life at a visitation on Wednesday April 1, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home, located at 378 Lincoln Street in Marlborough, MA. A graveside service will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Hudson, MA, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Charlie leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of countless shared moments. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate to know him. Though his presence is deeply missed, the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
