Marlborough- Chad W. Kennedy, 37, of Marlborough died peacefully in his wife's arms on Thursday May 5, 2016 at his home while surrounded by family, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Jenner M. (Blakey) Kennedy for the past 12 years. Chad was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania the son of William E. Kennedy and Debra A. (Schaeffer) Kennedy. Chad graduated from Duluth High School in Georgia in 1997 and went on to attend and graduate from Johnson & Wales College in Miami receiving a degree in Culinary Arts. Chad was employed by Starwood Resorts for 11 years, the last six as Executive Chef at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston. He loved fishing with his children and hunting with his family. Chad was devoted to his family, spending virtually every moment off with them. He will be remembered by his family as loyal, patient and quick witted. He was a kind, gentle soul who always put others before himself. Chad was a free spirit, always smiling and never let the little things in life bother him. Besides his wife and parents he leaves his son Elias A.W. Kennedy of Marlborough; two daughters, Fiona M.A. Kennedy and Seren J.M. Kennedy both of Marlborough; three sisters, Tara L. Kennedy of Dubois, PA, Shilo M. Swineford of South Carolina and Katie A. Bischoff of Florida; chad was also the brother of the late Gabriel H. Kennedy of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by paternal grandmother Margaret E. (Martz) Kennedy of Mesa, AZ; maternal grandparents, Henry and Nancy Schaeffer of Clarion, PA; his step-mother Debbie Kennedy of Mesa, AZ; mother and father-in-law Alan J.W. and Carol A. (Murphy) Blakey of England; sister-in-law Terrill Mayho of England and brother-in-law Simon Blakey of Canada; as well as many amazing nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom he loved dearly.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday May 10 from 4-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Also a celebration of Chad's life will be held on Wednesday May 11 from 3-6pm at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston. . In lieu of flowers donations may be made at www.GoFundMe.com/ChadKennedy .
