MARLBOROUGH - Cathy (Bonin) Mazza, 54, of Marlborough died peacefully Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at home with her family by her side, after a long illness. She was the wife of John F. Mazza for the last 27 years. Born in Falmouth, the daughter of Stella J. (Comerato) Bonin of Marlborough and the late Alfred Bonin, she was raised in Plymouth before moving to Marlborough in the 1960s. She was a senior production buyer at Raytheon in Marlborough for 25 years.
Cathy loved walking along the beach, riding her horses, cleaning her home, shopping and collecting Precious Moments porcelain figurines. She was a huge New England Patriots fan. Besides her husband John, she leaves two daughters, Victoria "Tori" L. Mazza of Marlborough and Dawn Marie of Florida; a sister, Deborah A. Thibault of Marlborough; many cousins; two aunts, Dena and Anita, both of Marlborough; and her nephews and nieces, Savannah, Jennifer, Tristan, Pete, Marisa, Christina, Jason, Jessica and Jasper.
Her funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Community Church, Berlin Road, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Instead of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, 1419 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
