BOYLSTON – Carolyn M. “Carrie” (Fraier) Goodwin, 63, a woman of profound grace, dignity, and professional distinction, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of John F. Wilper, with whom she shared 26 years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Born in Worcester, Carrie was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Beverly J. (Millin) Fraier. Raised in Sutton, she was a 1981 graduate of Sutton High School. A lifelong learner dedicated to her field, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Becker College and later achieved her Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University.

Carrie’s professional career was marked by exceptional leadership and a commitment to healing. As a Chief Executive Officer, she led numerous hospitals across the United States, from California to Massachusetts. Her career took her and her family across the country, leaving a legacy of improved healthcare and compassionate administration in every community she served.

Beyond her professional accolades, Carrie was known for her vibrant spirit and warm heart. A "die-hard" Boston Red Sox fan, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her flower gardens, the companionship of her dogs, and the art of storytelling. She possessed a keen sense of humor and a genuine kindness that touched everyone she met. Above all, her deepest devotion was reserved for her husband, her sons, and her sisters.

In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her two sons, Michael Wilper and his wife Terry of Westborough, and Benjamin Hayes Goodwin and his wife Sarabeth of Portland, Oregon. She was the devoted sister of Jane A. Fraier McMaster and her husband John of Boylston, Elizabeth Stratton and her husband Guy of Houston, Texas, and Laura L. Carney Didio and her husband John of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She also leaves behind her two granddaughters, Danielle and Cara Wilper, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Carrie will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to sign her online guestbook and share their memories at collinsfuneral.com.
