DENNISPORT - Aphrodite "Effie" (Eliopulos) Kappos, 91, of Dennisport died Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a short illness.  She was the wife of James A. Kappos, who died in 2004.  Born in Haverhill and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Francesca (Dimitriadou) Eliopulos.  She graduated from high school in Worcester, and Becker Junior College, where she received a degree in business administration. Effie enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and baking. She loved all her grandchildren and loved to watch them play on the beach. Effie was kind, warm, and compassionate, and enjoyed opening her home to family and friends.

She leaves her son, Alexander "Lex" Kappos and his wife, Alexandra, of Holden and her daughter, Cynthia Kofos and her husband, Dr. Nicholas Kofos of Marlborough; three brothers, James Ellis, Esq. and George Ellis, Esq. both of Shrewsbury, and Aristotle "Telly" Ellis, Esq. of Worcester; a sister, Katherine Kirkilis of New Jersey; three grandsons, Monthe and Zachary Kofos and James Kappos and two granddaughters, Leah Kofos and Elizabeth Kappos; and many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, corner Central and Cashman Streets, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Church. Instead of flowers donations may be made to the Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, Box 381, Marlborough, MA 01752.
