Andres I. Lopez, 51, of Marlborough, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born, raised, and educated in Retalhuleu, Guatemala, he was the son of Juan Lopez and Juana Sacor. Andres moved to Marlborough in 2003, where he worked as a skilled stone mason for many years.

Andres was a man of many passions. He loved watching and playing soccer, fishing, clamming, cooking, dancing, traveling, and building campfires. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he had a gift for making others smile and laugh. He was funny, humble, caring, compassionate, and loving—qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

He was a devoted father to his four daughters and cherished his role as a grandfather. Above all, Andres found joy in spending time with his family and will be remembered for the love and laughter he brought into their lives.

He leaves behind his four beloved daughters: Maria J. Vasquez and her husband Jesus, Andrea Y. Lopez, Jenifer E. Lopez, and Kimberly E. Lopez, all of Marlborough; his four brothers: Julio, Mario, Ottoniel, and Oscar Lopez, also of Marlborough; and five grandchildren: Nehemiah, Charlotte, Belen, Andre, and Yasdany. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his former wife, Guisela Santos of Marlborough.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.

Andres I. Lopez, de 51 años, residente de Marlborough, falleció el miércoles 2 de julio de 2025 en el Centro Médico UMass Memorial, tras una breve enfermedad.

Nació, creció y fue educado en Retalhuleu, Guatemala, hijo de Juan Lopez y Juana Sacor. En el año 2003 se trasladó a Marlborough, donde trabajó como albañil especializado en piedra durante muchos años.

Andres fue un hombre de muchas pasiones. Disfrutaba ver y jugar fútbol, pescar, recolectar almejas, cocinar, bailar, viajar y encender fogatas. Era conocido por su gran sentido del humor y su habilidad para hacer reír y sonreír a los demás. Fue una persona divertida, humilde, cariñosa, compasiva y amorosa, cualidades que lo hicieron muy querido por quienes lo conocieron.

Fue un padre dedicado a sus cuatro hijas y un abuelo que adoraba profundamente a sus nietos. Sobre todo, Andres encontraba alegría en pasar tiempo con su familia y será recordado por el amor y la alegría que trajo a sus vidas.

Le sobreviven sus cuatro queridas hijas: Maria J. Vasquez y su esposo Jesús, Andrea Y. Lopez, Jenifer E. Lopez y Kimberly E. Lopez, todas de Marlborough; sus cuatro hermanos: Julio, Mario, Ottoniel y Oscar Lopez, también de Marlborough; y sus cinco nietos: Nehemiah, Charlotte, Belén, Andre y Yasdany. También deja numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y primos, así como a su exesposa, Guisela Santos de Marlborough.

Las horas de visita serán el lunes 7 de julio, de 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., en Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. El servicio fúnebre y sepelio se realizará el martes 8 de julio a las 10:30 a.m. en el Cementerio Evergreen, en la calle Wilson, Marlborough.
