Visitation
Andrea (Dowd) Durant, 52 of Marlborough, passed away on March 15, 2026 after a hard fought battle with end stage kidney disease.
Born July 2, 1973 to Nancy Anderson and the late Frederick Dowd, Andrea grew up in Needham. She was a graduate of Needham High School, class of 1991. After spending some time at Drake University, Andrea returned to Massachusetts and worked with numbers and spreadsheets throughout her career.
She married Jamie Durant on April 26, 2003 — it was a buy one, get two free deal. The family settled into a home on Cook Lane they filled with love and laughter (and some sarcasm, too).
Andrea fiercely loved her 4 children and was endlessly proud of each. Whether scooping slushies at the softball field, boasting of their academic achievements or rescuing them in the middle of the night when their car broke down, Andrea was a fixture in the major and minor moments of her kids’ lives.
She loved the beach, a good rom-com or book, Bon Jovi and challenging puzzles. Andrea was stubborn, protective and passionate. No challenge was too great to overcome. She treasured the adventures with her family, often describing them as only something that could happen to the Durants.
Andrea is survived by her husband of 23 years Jamie; her children Rachael and her husband Stan of Westborough, Jarrett of Waltham, Julianna and Cameron of Marlborough; her mother Nancy Anderson of Yarmouth; her brother Kerry Dowd and his wife Fabiana of Concord; her sister Christina Dowd of Bradenton, FL; her sister in law Patty King of Brookfield; her brother in law John and his wife Susan of Townsend; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and friends. She also leaves behind Frankie, her faithful Yorkie companion.
She was welcomed in heaven by her father, Fred; her mother in law Anna Durant; her sister in law Kathy DiGregorio; her brothers in law Jeff King, Billy Durant and Lee Chaplin; and her nephew Anthony DiGregorio.
The family would like to thank Andrea’s dialysis nurse Jenn for her support over the last few years.
A wake will be held Saturday March 21 from 4-6 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign her online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Kidney Foundation (https://kidneytribute.rallybound.org/AndreaDurant) in Andrea’s memory or consider becoming an organ donor.
