Obituary


MARLBOROUGH - Alberta F. (Charron) Horman, 82, of Marlborough died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of Charles H. Horman, who died in 1978. Born, raised and educated in Marlborough and a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1945, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Oram) Charron. Alberta worked in the accounting department of Marlborough Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1998. During the '60s, she worked for People's National Bank on Main Street in Marlborough for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, an avid reader and collector of dolls. A loving, caring mother and grandmother and devoted to her family, she enjoyed cooking and helping others in need, including greyhounds, for which she became a foster mother.
She leaves three sons, Christopher C. Horman, and his wife, Cathy, Matthew G. Horman and his wife, Linda, all of Marlborough, Robert D. Prater and his wife, Rosemary, of Hudson, and a daughter, Kathryn A. Bilancieri and her husband, Paul, of Marlborough; a sister, Kathryn Crigger of Los Angeles; five grandsons and six granddaughters; and her cousin, Daniel Kennedy, whom she helped raise. She was pre-deceased by her brother Craig Charron of Colorado.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street.Calling hours in the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.. Instead of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or Greyhound Friends, Inc., 167 Saddle Hill Road, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
