SUDBURY - Agnes (Dulko) Leahy, 93, of Sudbury died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham after a brief illness. She was born, raised and educated in Worcester, the daughter of the late Constantine and Julia (Gryboska) Dulko. She worked several years in Woonsocket and Newport, R.I., before moving to New York City. In 1951, she married Paul J. Leahy, then a Captain in the U.S. Army and member of the JAG Corps. After Paul's service in Korea, Agnes joined him on his numerous assignments throughout Europe, Guam, Japan, Hawaii and Washington, D.C., volunteering for numerous charitable organizations. Following Colonel Leahy's retirement from the Army as Chief Advocate of the Pacific, the Leahy's moved to Sudbury in the 1960s, where they were active in veterans' groups and the Sudbury Council on Aging. She enjoyed reading, knitting and cooking.
Agnes is survived by two nieces, Barbara Dulko Speed, and her husband, Andrew, of Falmouth, Maine and Longboat Key, Fla., and Lauren Dutney and her husband, Michael, and their son, J.D., and a nephew, Tom Leahy and his wife, Laurie, and their children, Ryan, Jered and Meghan, all of Hudson.
Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. Following cremation, burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
