Steven M. De Christopher

De Christopher, Steven Age 59, of Marlborough, MA, passed away on May 7, 2019, at UMass Memorial Medical Center Worcester, MA surrounded by loving family and friends, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born June 10, 1959, in Brockton, MA. Survived by his mother, Ruth Leary and predeceased by his father Robert De Christopher. Also survived by his children Nicholas, Gino, Angelica, Desiree, Faith and Christian, and his several brothers and sisters. Steven leaves his loving fiancé Alison Waugh of Berlin, MA. He spent his childhood in Brockton, MA and graduated from Brockton High School, later attending Cape Cod Community College where he earned his degree in Athletic Training.  Steven worked as a Personal Trainor, Security for Event Staff, and as a Recovery Coach.  He was dedicated to volunteering his time, and participated in many fundraising events for causes that became his passion.  Steven was a volunteer at the ARC (Addiction Referral Center) in Marlborough, MA and could be found there on a regular basis helping in anyway.  Battling cancer introduced Steven a new group of friends and he immediately embraced the opportunity to offer support and encouraging words.  He participating in several Cancer Walks and a Polar Plunge in addition to other cancer fundraising events.  Organization memberships included the Addiction Referral Center and Metro Church, both of Marlborough, MA.  His hobbies included attending car and motorcycle Nitro races, working out with weights at the gym and at home, volunteering, and spending time with friends.  Steven was enormously compassionate and generous. He was known as having a huge heart and an easy-going spirit which lead to many friendships.  Steven’s sense of humor made everyone laugh and his presence would light up any room. Over the past several years, Steven found his love in Alison, his fiancé, they spent time sharing and enjoying life as they planned a future together. Although he succumbed to cancer, Steven lived his life fully and has touched the lives of all who knew him. 

A memorial service will be held on May 21, 2019, at Metro Church, 401 Elm St. Marlborough, MA from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Recovery Connection, 30 Main St. Marlborough, MA will host a celebration of Steven’s life immediately following the memorial service.
