Nicholas Batista Rego, 39, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Nicholas was born in Framingham, MA on December 6, 1977. Above all, family was most important to Nick. He will always be remembered by all those who knew him for his kind and peaceful spirit, his humble nature and quick wit. He was an avid sports fan and statistician by hobby. He loved music and enjoyed playing basketball and soccer with his children, trips to Old Orchard Beach, treasured spending time with his family and friends, late night talks with his Vava, watching Boston sports with his father and grandfather (Vavo), playing fantasy football, countless hours of competitive trivial pursuit and endless nights of cribbage and cards. Nick attended Fitchburg High School and studied IT at Mount Wachusett Community College. He worked in Wire and Cable for many years. Nicholas leaves behind and will be deeply missed by his wife, Kelly Rego, their two sons,  Nicholas, Jr., 13 and Eli Kenneth, 11 of Sterling, his parents, Manuel and Marybeth Rego of Clinton, his sisters, Gina Vallee and her husband A.J. of Upton, Andrea Terho and her husband, Jason of Ashburnham, Olivia Asselin and her husband, Bill of Lunenburg, maternal grandmother, Inez Clemmer (Vava) of Northboro and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Calling hours will be Friday, September 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling.
