Welcome to the memorial page for

Garnet Meyer

February 5, 1953 ~ August 25, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Marlborough, MA - Garnet Alan Meyer, 64, of Northborough, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at Marlborough Hills Healthcare, after suffering from a severe mental illness his entire adult life and considerable physical health problems as he aged. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late William G. Meyer and the late Doris (Nuetzel) Meyer. Garnet moved frequently as a child, attending schools in England, Scotland, Maryland, and Texas. The family moved to Wellesley, MA, when he was a teenager, where he graduated from Wellesley High School in 1970. He went on to attend UMass Amherst and Northeastern University for several semesters. Garnet was an intelligent, considerate man who treated everyone with kindness and respect. Before becoming ill, he enjoyed camping, white-water kayaking, canoeing, biking, playing the guitar, and listening to his vast collection of multi-genre music. Christmas was Garnet's favorite holiday. It brought him joy to be with the entire family, and he got great pleasure from watching his niece and nephews open the gifts he thoughtfully chose for them. He leaves three sisters: Carol Meyer of Wayland, Diane Meyer of Westford, and Corinne Meyer of Sudbury; four nephews: Eric Docherty, Scott Docherty, Russell Feye, and Alex Feye; and one niece: Lauren Amabile. He also leaves two brothers-in-law: Steven Feye of Sudbury and Rob Docherty of Westford.
