Ernest A. Houde, Jr.

Marlborough- Ernest A. Houde, Jr., 81, of Marlborough died Wednesday  March 20, 2024 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Patricia  Houde.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Ernest A. and Jane F. (Lugin) Houde. He  was a graduate of Marian High School in Framingham Class of 1960, and joined the Marine Corps after graduating and was a Vietnam Era veteran.  Ernie was a lifelong resident of Marlborough.  Prior to his long career in Real Estate, he had many different business ventures, including founding the Easy Riders Snowmobile Club, and a successful landscaping company.  Ernie loved to go to the beach, and loved spending time in Florida with his wife Patricia.  He always welcomed people with a smile, and, of course, passed out candy wherever he went. 

He leaves three daughters, Janice Pacific and her husband Henry of Berlin, Sheila Casto and her husband Michael of Marlborough and Tracy Houde of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Travis Pacific of Berlin, Kaylyn Bartlett of Worcester, Hanna Lambracht of Boylston, Gabriella and Cooper Casto both of Marlborough.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday March 27 at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street.  Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 pm in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  All are invited to sign Ernie’s online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com.
