Marlborough- Richard D. Collins, 72, of Marlborough died Saturday July 30, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.  He was the husband of Patricia D. (MacDonald) Collins for the last 34 years.  He was born in Boston, the son of John and Marie (MacDonald) Collins and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in New York. He was a self-employed Salesman of Wholesale Dry Goods for many years, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.  

He leaves three sons, Joseph P.R. Collins and his wife Carla of Marlborough, Scott T. Collins and his wife Jenn of Framingham, and Matthew J. Collins of Framingham; a brother, John Collins, Jr. of Delaware; two sisters, Lorraine DeBethencourt of Billerica and Janet MacKay of Florida;  and two grandchildren, Taylor Collins of Marlborough and Tristan Collins of Framingham.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday August 4, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday August 3, 2011 from 5-8 p.m.  in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  All are invited to sign Richard’s online guestbook at www.CollinsFuneral.com.
