Marlborough- Eric C. Weiner, 57, of Marlborough, died Saturday January 13, 2018 at Marlborough Hospital.  He leaves his very devoted wife Ann, of 27 years.  He was born in Boston, the son of Samuel Weiner and Loretta (Rimer) De Stefano, was educated in Boston and attended Bunker Hill Community College. Besides his wife he leaves twins sons, Joseph  of South Grafton and James of Brooklyn, NY and William  of Marlborough; his daughter Jessica  Mulvey and her husband Daniel of Lynn; a sister Leslie Weiner-Leandro and her husband José of Silver Spring; three grandchildren, Ava, Rachel and Eric; many nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his stepfather Anthony DeStefano of Melrose. Eric was a general contractor for over 30 years and owned and operated Reliable Home Improvement, now Eric & Sons. He was an active member of AA, loved working out, music, sports, bike riding, hiking, being on the water, and was a black belt in karate.  Eric was a “mountain of a man” with a great sense of humor. For the last 8 years Eric spent much of his time sharing his experience, strength, knowledge, hope and energy on bettering the lives of any man who might ask. His tireless and selfless actions were inspirational to those who knew him. Eric had the rare gift of pure communication: somehow his words had a way going straight to the heart of the ones who needed a design for living.  He never took credit for that ability, but gave full credit to the God of his understanding. Eric was always able to see the humor in any situation and was happy to find a way for everyone else to see it too. Anyone who knew him would know the zest for life that he brought with him wherever he went.  He was devoted to his beloved mother, never missing a chance to find a way to help her. He was a family man and a man of honor and dignity.  Eric was the most spiritually fit person most of us ever knew.

A Celebration of Eric’s life will be held Thursday January 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  Calling hours will be held Thursday prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be private following cremation.  

A memorial will be held at the Recovery Connection, 31 Main St. In Marlborough on Friday, January 19th between 6:30-8:00PM with food and fellowship.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eric’s memory to the Marlborough ARC. 33 Main St.
