Boxborough- Carlos Romao Gutierres, 81, of Boxborough died Saturday January 7, 2017 at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Lindaura Lopes Cardoso for the past 44 years. He was born, raised and educated in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of the late Santiago Romao and Carmen Gutierres and owned a trucking company in Brazil for many years. Following his retirement, he bought a farm and raised cattle and produced dairy products. Carlos was a member of St. Tarcisius Church in Framingham, and was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was known for his great sense of humor and always having a positive attitude, which was evident by his wonderful smile and outlook on life. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Luis E. Gutierres and his wife Viviane of Stow and Carlos C. Romao of Mato Grosso, Brazil; five daughters, Angelita Cardoso Gutierres of Ayer, Marcia and Ana Romao both of Mato Grosso, BR, Carmen and Vera Romao both of Parana, BR; a brother Joaquim Romao of Mato Grosso, BR; four grandchildren, Luisa and Gabriel Gutierres of Stow and Luan and Lorenna Teixeira of Ayer; many nephews and nieces. He was the father of the late Solange Romao and brother of the late Dolores Romao Defende.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday January 11 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Tarcisius Church, Waverly Street, Framingham. Burial will follow at South Cemetery, Boxborough. Calling hours will be held Tuesday January 10 from 6-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
